Organ Scholars Program

Since 2024, St. Francis in the Fields has hosted our own Organ Scholars Program in partnership with the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. This program follows the Oxbridge Chapel model and is a unique opportunity for students seeking practical experience in a parish promoting traditional Anglican liturgy and music.

• An organ major, typically a graduate student, is appointed by the Director of Music in consultation with Dr. Jeffrey Smith, Professor of Organ and Church Music at IU
• The organ scholar assists the Director of Music in services by accompanying hymns, psalms, and anthems
• Additional opportunities include music department administration, assisting with choir attendance, and managing our extensive choir library
